
The Class of 2024 High School Graduation Ceremony is today at 1:00 in the HS gymnasium! Everyone is welcome to show up to honor our graduates and congratulate these exceptional students!


Selkirk Schools would like thank Ramstead Ranch and the Lions Club for allowing the 6th and 7th grade classes to tour the ranch and ride the rail cars. This was a fun and educational field trip! We appreciate the time and effort spent hosting us and supporting the students of our school !





Join us for Family Night @ Selkirk Elementary - Thursday, June 6! Radical Rick returns! The fun begins at 5:45 p.m. with hotdogs, free books, bubble station, and Food Sense activities. Radical Rick will present at 6:15 p.m. on FORCES...the laws of motion and gravity! Outside performance is weather permits.


Selkirk's Senior Class of 2024 would like to thank the community and all of those who helped fund their Senior Careers and Independent Living Field Trip. They are having a great time!



Selkirk's annual Transition to Kindergarten Screening & ChildFind Activities will be held at Selkirk Elementary School on Monday June 10th, from 8:30-2:00. Please call the school (509) 442-4225 for an appointment. All children seeking to enroll in TK next fall must participate in screening. Priority enrollment lists are created from screening results.


Don’t miss the musical event of the year! On this coming Saturday, June 1st, the first Selkirk Music Festival will be held at the high school. Come join in the fun from 1:00 to 4:00pm, and listen to musical sets by students and community members. There will be food available, games to play, and of course lots of great music! The Selkirk Track Team had a very successful weekend at the state meet! Michael Egland took 5th place in the Long Jump and the Triple Jump. In the Javelin, Jameson Davis took 8th place, and Michael Egland took 5th place. Jameson Davis, Spencer Duty, Nathan Rasmussen, and Michael Egland took 6th place in the 4x400 Meter relay. Way to go Rangers!




At the State 1B/2B Track Meet today in Yakima, Selkirk Ranger Michael Egland 5th place in the Long Jump! Congratulations, Michael!


At the track meet in Yakima yesterday, Jameson Davis ran the 1600 Meter in 4 minutes and 39 seconds, earning him 4th place in the state! Way to go Jameson!!

Selkirk High students had a great time at prom last weekend at Northern Quest! We would like to thank our neighboring district, Cusick, for hosting and inviting us to such a great event!

Better World Day was a great success this year! Selkirk students spent their day in various locations around our three towns, working hard to beautify and improve our parks, cemeteries, roads, and school grounds. Many of our staff, students, and community members commented on what a great experience the day was. Special thanks to Kelly Flanagan, Kathy Mondich, and Sindy Couch for helping to organize and coordinate projects to make this day possible! It's so nice to give back to our supportive community!



Kindergarten Registration at Selkirk Elementary is open May 20-23. Current Selkirk Elementary TK students will automatically be enrolled in kindergarten. Children 5-years old by August 31 and not currently attending Selkirk Elementary, will need to bring a birth certificate and immunization records to register. We will copy your documents. These documents must be on file prior to the start of school. On June 10, screening for students interested in TK will be available. Children must be 4-years old by August 31 and have participated in screening to be eligible for TK early education program next fall. Please call the elementary office (509-446-4225) to reserve a TK screening spot. You will need to bring your child's birth certificate and immunization records to the screening appointment.


Free Immunization Clinic: On FRIDAY, MAY 10, Northeast Tri-County Health will be at Selkirk Elementary to offer immunizations at no cost to area families. In addition to Selkirk students, homeschool students, and children entering school next year are also invited. To schedule an appointment, please contact Misty Reed, School Nurse (509-446-3505 or mreed@selkirkschools.org). An appointment also insures that NETCHD will have the appropriate vaccine available. A parent/guardian must accompany their child to complete forms before receiving immunizations.


Today is the first day of National Teacher Appreciation week, and Selkirk would like to extend a huge thank you to all our dedicated and hardworking certified staff! The job of a teacher is one of the most important roles there is - teachers shape the students who will become the future adults of the world. From Pre-K through 12th Grade, Selkirk’s teachers give their best every day, providing whatever it takes to make sure every child succeeds in their education. Thank you to all our incomparable educators, Selkirk truly has a reason to celebrate this week!



Selkirk's Metal Shop Class will be selling hand crafted plant hangers at the Selkirk Valley 4H Plant Sale this Saturday, May 4th, at 11:00am. These are perfect Mother's Day Gifts - Come get yours before they're gone!



Selkirk MS/HS is celebrating Better World Day tomorrow 05/02/2024. Please send your student to school with a pair of work gloves and a water bottle. We are looking forward to positively impacting our communities!

Selkirk School District is providing a Birth to 4 “Fun with Outdoor Toys” event on Wednesday, May 1rst, at the elementary school. Bring your child to school at 2:00 for an hour of fun activities.. Each child will take home a free book from Pend Oreille County First Book, and an outdoor toy compliments of Selkirk’s Parents as Teachers program. See you there!
